Dr. Hauschka Holistic Face Treatment

„A person needs two beauties,
an inner and an outer one.”
- Elisabeth Sigmund -
Suffused with Life from Head to Foot
Treatment by a Dr. Hauschka Esthetician starts with a fragrant footbath. The stresses of the day melt away in its pampering warmth. With attentive care the esthetician uses rhythmically breathing and flowing movements to touch her client. At the heart of her treatment is lymphatic stimulation, which the esthetician performs using fine brush strokes and gentle hand movements. This stimulates the fluid processes in the tissues and promotes regeneration and health. It purifies, detoxifies and thus strengthens the immune system.
Of course, a full-care consultation, as well as face care and cleansing with natural Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products also form part of the treatment – for both men and women.
The Dr. Hauschka Classic Treatment leads to deep relaxation and leaves the client with a feeling of light, lightness and inner balance.
At One with Oneself
When the ladies of Stockholm arrived for their appointments at Elisabeth Sigmund’s Beauty Care Salon she usually found their hands were cold and their necks and shoulders tense. After an attentive greeting; therefore, Elisabeth Sigmund started her treatment by dealing with these symptoms.
„A woman opens her heart to her esthetician
more than to almost anyone else.”
This was Elisabeth Sigmund’s repeated experience after this painstaking reception. Right up to the present, it is particularly important for to the Dr. Hauschka Esthetician to greet her clients with care and consideration.
Because, in our head-oriented working lives, our feet are often left to get cold, the esthetician uses a welcoming footbath to make her client feel at home. Leg and foot stroking provide a counterpoint to the usual concentration on the head, to help melt stress away and engender a sense of wellbeing. Various techniques help the neck and back muscles to relax; after the stroking, the hands and arms feel as if cocooned. With the client now thoroughly at home, he or she can really enjoy the following facial.
Pure Nature for a Clear Complexion
Gentle, revitalising cleansing with natural products is the first step towards a clear, rosy complexion. Using Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Milk the esthetician removes make-up, and then uses Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream to bind waste matter eliminated by the skin and accumulated particles of grime. Both cleansing products are free of soaps and tensides, and therefore especially mild.
Fragrant compresses on the décolleté and face induce deep, relaxed breathing.
The Dr. Hauschka Facial Steam Bath with witch hazel, nasturtium and daisy and the Cleansing Clay Mask made up of medicinal clay with witch hazel and nasturtium leave the skin clear right down to the pores and prepare it for the following care steps. While the Cleansing Clay Mask is doing its work, cotton wool pads with Dr. Hauschka Eye Solace cool and relax the area around the eyes.
Incidentally, the Dr. Hauschka Esthetician does not use exfoliating products. She only cleanses away what the skin is ready to relinquish. Anything more can cause irritation.
A Gentle Flowing: Lymphatic Stimulation.
Elisabeth Sigmund had often observed how the sensitive connective tissue of the face lost its supportive strength through regular massaging and tended to become slack. She was motivated to search for an alternative.
One day she read in a newspaper about manual lymphatic drainage. This method, which was developed by Dr. Emil Vodder and his wife Estrid, used light pumping and circling manual techniques to make congested lymph flow again. Elisabeth Sigmund visited Dr. Vodder in Copenhagen and discussed with him in detail how she could use his method in cosmetic facial treatments. The lymphatic system is an open system, at the first stage of which lymph can flow in both directions. Therefore, it is essential to know at which point the lymph must be stimulated and in which direction to make it drain away.
After a phase of intensive work with Dr. Vodder, Elisabeth Sigmund was able to use lymphatic stimulation in her own salon where she experienced how her clients relaxed, and waste was eliminated from the tissue.
Sometimes a client’s skin was so sensitive that even the stroking touch of the esthetician's hands was too much for her. This gave Elisabeth Sigmund the idea of using a brush for some of the stimulating strokes. The concept of lymphatic stimulation with brushes was born.
Rhythmically Revitalising: Lymphatic Stimulation
The tiny lymph capillaries are very important for the removal of fluid from the tissues. The lymphatic system primarily removes metabolic waste products, toxins, pathogens and superfluous tissue fluid. If the flow of the lymph is hampered, fluid can build up locally.
Via the skin, lymphatic stimulation gives a harmonising and decongesting impulse to the entire organism. Alternating between the gentle touch of her hands and two soft brushes, the Dr. Hauschka Esthetician stimulates the flow of fluid in the connective tissue and the lymphatic system with calm, rhythmical movements.
The organism relaxes and unwinds, the fluid flows harmoniously through the body, and oxygen and nutrients once again reach cells unhindered. The lymphatic system takes up metabolic end products from the intermediate tissues more easily and transports them rapidly to the lymph nodes, where they are rendered harmless. Conversely, the harmoniously flowing lymph carries antibodies produced by the body more rapidly to where they are needed to combat disease.
Ready for Harmonising Care
As the protective covering of the body, the human skin is exposed to external and internal influences which can weaken it. This can result in dryness, lack of moisture or overproduction of oil as well as premature ageing. Dr. Hauschka Skin Care regards these changing skin conditions as transient skin states and does not divide the skin into static types. By addressing the skin as a holistic organ and stimulating its natural functions, Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products encourage the skin to exert its own powers of regeneration.
The Dr. Hauschka Esthetician adjusts the care programme exactly to the skin condition. She selects from an exclusive range of ampoules and intensive care products the appropriate ones for the current state of the skin. Rich masks provide that little extra care, with extracts of medicinal herbs and high-quality plant oils such as avocado and jojoba oil that soothe, smooth and stimulate the skin’s moisture-preserving processes. While the mask is working, the esthetician attends to the décolleté using flowing movements and a fragrant Dr. Hauschka Body Oil – Rose Body Oil, for instance.
The Dr. Hauschka Esthetician then applies the appropriate Dr. Hauschka day care, adapting it to the particular needs of each client. As the central plant, kidney vetch mediates between the protective processes of the day and the regenerating night processes.
Natural Beauty
Each person carries beauty within. Dr. Hauschka Decorative Cosmetics gently accentuate the client’s own natural vibrancy. Its comprehensive range of lipsticks, foundation, powder, rouge, mascara, kajal and eye shadow is composed on the same principles as the Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products: natural ingredients and a formula that not only adorns but at the same time nurtures. High-quality plant oils and waxes, and specially selected medicinal herbs make this possible.
Dr. Hauschka Estheticians collaborated closely with artists to create the colours for the new range. The results are unique: the Dr. Hauschka shades have taken on a life of their own and unfold different nuances on every skin.
„The individuality of facial features
is displayed beautifully if they are
expertly accentuated”
